Publication Ethics

AMIR: Alaztha Journal of Modern Informatics Research is a scientific journal published online by CV. Alaztha Media Publikasi. This journal is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against any publication malpractices. All parties involved in the publication process — editors, reviewers, authors, and publishers — must agree to the following ethical standards based on the LIPI (Lembaga Ilmu Pengetahuan Indonesia) guidelines and the Regulation of the Head of LIPI No. 5 of 2014 concerning the Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications, as well as the Kemenristekdikti standards for scientific journal management.

A. Publication and Authorship

All submitted papers are subject to a strict double-blind peer-review process by at least two reviewers who are experts in the field of Modern Informatics.
The factors taken into account in the review process are: relevance, scientific soundness, significance, originality, readability, and language quality.
The possible decisions include: Acceptance, Acceptance with Revisions, or Rejection.
If authors are encouraged to revise and resubmit a submission, there is no guarantee that the revised submission will be accepted.
Rejected articles will not be re-reviewed unless specifically requested by the editor with valid reasons.
Paper acceptance is constrained by legal requirements regarding defamation, copyright infringement, and plagiarism.
No research can be included in more than one publication (no redundant publication).

B. Duties of Editors

Publication Decisions: The editor is responsible for deciding which articles submitted to the journal should be published. The editor may be guided by the policies of the journal's editorial board and constrained by legal requirements regarding libel, copyright infringement, and plagiarism.
Fair Play: Editors evaluate manuscripts for their intellectual content without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors.
Confidentiality: The editor and any editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisers, and the publisher, as appropriate.
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in an editor's own research without the express written consent of the author.
Quality Assurance: Editors are responsible for the contents and overall quality of the publication and should guarantee the integrity of the academic record.
Corrections and Retractions: Editors should publish errata pages or make corrections when needed and act if they suspect misconduct, whether a paper is published or unpublished.
Preserve Anonymity: Editors should preserve the anonymity of reviewers and ensure all research material they publish conforms to internationally accepted ethical guidelines.

C. Duties of Reviewers

Contribution to Editorial Decisions: Peer review assists the editor in making editorial decisions and, through editorial communications with the author, may also assist the author in improving the paper.
Promptness: Any selected referee who feels unqualified to review the research reported in a manuscript or knows that its prompt review will be impossible should notify the editor and excuse himself from the review process.
Confidentiality: Any manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. They must not be shown to or discussed with others except as authorized by the editor.
Standards of Objectivity: Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Referees should express their views clearly with supporting arguments.
Acknowledgement of Sources: Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors. Any statement that an observation, derivation, or argument had been previously reported should be accompanied by the relevant citation.
Similarity and Overlap: A reviewer should call to the editor's attention any substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript under consideration and any other published paper of which they have personal knowledge.
Disclosure and Conflict of Interest: Privileged information or ideas obtained through peer review must be kept confidential and not used for personal advantage. Reviewers should not consider manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships with any of the authors, companies, or institutions connected to the papers.

D. Duties of Authors

Reporting Standards: Authors of reports of original research should present an accurate account of the work performed as well as an objective discussion of its significance. Underlying data should be represented accurately in the paper. A paper should contain sufficient detail and references to permit others to replicate the work.
Originality and Plagiarism: The authors should ensure that they have written entirely original works, and if they have used the work and/or words of others, this has been appropriately cited or quoted. Plagiarism in all its forms constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.
Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication: An author should not publish manuscripts describing essentially the same research in more than one journal or primary publication. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.
Acknowledgement of Sources: Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given. Authors should cite publications that have been influential in determining the nature of the reported work.
Authorship of the Paper: Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study. All those who have made significant contributions should be listed as co-authors. The corresponding author should ensure that all appropriate co-authors and no inappropriate co-authors are included on the paper.
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: All authors should disclose in their manuscript any financial or other substantive conflict of interest that might be construed to influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript. All sources of financial support for the project should be disclosed.
Fundamental Errors in Published Works: When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in their own published work, it is the author's obligation to promptly notify the journal editor or publisher and cooperate with the editor to retract or correct the paper.

E. Duties of the Publisher

Journal Identity: Determine the name of the journal, scientific scope, scale, and accreditation status.
Editorial Board: Determine the editorial board and define the relationship between publishers, editors, peer reviewers, and other parties in a clear agreement.
Confidentiality: Appreciate confidential matters, both for contributing researchers, authors, editors, and reviewers.
Intellectual Property Rights: Apply norms and provisions regarding intellectual property rights, especially copyright.
Journal Policies: Journal policies and statements to authors, editorial boards, peer reviewers, and readers must be clear and accessible.
Code of Conduct: Generate behavioral code guides for editors and peer reviewers.
Publication Regularity: Publish a journal regularly according to the established schedule.
Funding Sustainability: Guarantee the availability of funds for the sustainability of journal publications.
Networking: Build cooperation and marketing networks to increase the visibility and impact of the journal.
Licensing and Legality: Prepare licensing and other legality aspects for the journal's operations.

F. Publication Ethics Based on Indonesian Scientific Standards

In accordance with the Regulation of the Head of LIPI No. 5 of 2014 concerning the Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications, and the Kemenristekdikti standards, the following principles are upheld:

Scientific Integrity: All parties involved must maintain honesty, objectivity, and transparency in the publication process.
Respect for Intellectual Property: Proper attribution and citation of sources must be given to all works that have influenced the research.
Responsibility: Authors are fully responsible for the content, data, and conclusions presented in their manuscripts.
Accountability: Editors and publishers are accountable for maintaining the quality and ethical standards of the journal.
Professionalism: Reviewers must provide professional, constructive, and timely feedback to authors.

G. Sanctions and Violations

The following actions are considered violations of publication ethics and may result in sanctions:

Plagiarism: If plagiarism is detected, the article will be rejected and the author will be blacklisted from submitting to AMIR for a period of 2 (two) years.
Data Manipulation/Fabrication: Any form of data falsification or fabrication will result in immediate rejection and the author will be banned from submitting to AMIR.
Duplicate Submission: Submitting the same manuscript to multiple journals simultaneously will result in rejection and the author will be notified to other journals.
Failure to Revise: If the article has been assessed by an editor or reviewer with "Accepted with Revisions" status but no revisions are made within one (1) month, the author will be subject to sanctions including blacklisting.

H. Statements and Declarations

Authors make a statement of willingness to improve the scientific/manuscript properly and correctly in accordance with the direction of the editor or reviewer.
All authors must sign a Copyright Transfer Agreement upon acceptance of their manuscript for publication.
