Duties and Responsibilities of Editors

  • Responsible for all articles published in Alaztha Nursing Journal (ANJ).
  • Assist authors in complying with the journal’s submission guidelines and editorial policies.
  • Consult with editorial board members and reviewers when making editorial decisions.
  • Evaluate manuscripts solely on their academic merit without discrimination based on nationality, ethnicity, race, religion, gender, political views, seniority, or institutional affiliation.
  • Decline editorial responsibilities when a conflict of interest may affect objective judgment.
  • Ensure that the peer-review process is conducted anonymously according to the journal’s policy.
  • Communicate editorial decisions to authors together with reviewer comments, except for comments deemed inappropriate or offensive.
  • Respect reasonable requests from authors regarding the exclusion of specific reviewers.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts and related information.
  • Follow COPE Flowcharts when handling suspected ethical misconduct or authorship disputes.

  • Evaluate manuscripts objectively and provide constructive recommendations.
  • Identify potential ethical concerns and publication misconduct.
  • Complete the review process within the assigned timeframe or promptly inform the editor if unable to do so.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts and all related materials.
  • Decline review assignments when conflicts of interest exist with authors, institutions, or research projects.

Duties and Responsibilities of Authors

  • Confirm that the manuscript is original, has not been published previously, and is not under consideration elsewhere.
  • Ensure the originality of the work and appropriately acknowledge all sources through proper citation and referencing.
  • Refrain from plagiarism, self-plagiarism, data fabrication, and data falsification.
  • Ensure that all listed authors meet the authorship criteria established by the journal.
  • Avoid including identifiable patient information unless written informed consent has been obtained and disclosure is scientifically necessary.
  • For research involving human participants, confirm compliance with the Declaration of Helsinki and approval from the relevant ethics committee.
  • For studies involving animals, confirm adherence to national and international guidelines for the ethical treatment of laboratory animals.
  • Provide research data and supporting documentation when requested for editorial verification purposes.
