Peer Reviewer Process
Alaztha Nursing Journal (ANJ) is committed to providing a high-quality and timely publication process through rigorous editorial assessment and peer review procedures.
All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial screening conducted by the editorial committee, consisting of members of the editorial team. The primary purpose of this stage is to evaluate the manuscript’s relevance to the journal’s aims and scope, scientific quality, and research novelty. Based on this assessment, manuscripts may proceed to peer review, be returned for preliminary revision, or be rejected.
Initial rejection is generally based on insufficient novelty, inadequate scientific quality, or a lack of alignment with the scope of Alaztha Nursing Journal (ANJ). In certain cases, authors may be asked to revise their manuscripts before a decision is made regarding their suitability for external review.
Authors will generally receive a decision from the initial screening stage within 2–4 weeks after manuscript submission.
Manuscripts that successfully pass the initial evaluation will be sent to at least two independent reviewers with expertise relevant to the manuscript’s subject area. Reviewers assess the methodological quality, scientific contribution, validity of findings, relevance of references, and overall clarity of the manuscript.
Editorial decisions are primarily based on reviewer recommendations. Editors consider a minimum of two review reports before making a decision. The final decision regarding publication is made by the Editor-in-Chief in consultation with the editorial committee, taking into account the reviewers’ evaluations and editorial considerations.
Reviewers generally require approximately 3–4 weeks to complete one round of the review process.
All manuscript evaluations are conducted using a blind peer-review system, in which the identities of authors and reviewers are kept confidential to ensure objectivity, independence, and integrity throughout the review process. All review activities are managed through the journal’s editorial system.
